Motorola have made a big thing of the RAZR. The phone has sold in its millions, thanks mainly to its iconic design. As Motorola users started to demand more from their handsets, different variations on the RAZR theme have been released. And now we have the Motorola RAZR2 V8.
The Motorola V8 on T-Mobile has many features that make it stand out from the crowd. The handset feels good in the hand, due to the materials used in construction. A steel frame is used to surround the phone, giving a sense if strength and stability, without adding too much to the weight of the phone. On the outside of the phone there is a large colour screen, which has the same pixel count as the inner screen, 240 x 320. The screen can access text messages, show photos of people who are calling you, and also works the handsets music player with the flip closed. This is achieved by some touch sensitive music controls which are accessible when music is playing. There is also support for Bluetooth 2.0 allowing you to listen to music wirelessly with a compatible Bluetooth headset.
The camera on teh V8 is 2.0 megapixel, but the images captured are of an impressive quality. The quality is more impressive when seen on a PC screen than when viewed on the handset directly.
Memory was always an issue with the original RAZR handset. With the Moto RAZR2 there is still no memory card slot but on board memory is up to 420MB, plenty of room for a good range of music, videos and pictures.
Data transfer has also had an upgrade from the original RAZR, with support for GPRS and EDGE. Data transfer to a PC is done using a Micro USB cable. The web browser on the phone is supplied by Opera, so you are assured of a good browsing experience. With java support you can install a range of third party applications on the handset.
